| Are you drinking enough Water?
The human adult body consists of approximately 60 to 70% water. Many people who forget to drink their daily water requirements or drink fluids that overwork the kidneys suffer from mild to moderate dehydration. Dehydration is the most common cause of kidney stress. People with urinary problems, fevers, asthma, infections, or those who exercise, partake in hard physical labour or take any kind of drugs are especially in need of drinking enough water.
Water removes the toxic waste of metabolism and aids the kidneys in blood filtration. It prevents constipation, hydrates body cells and can prevent headaches. Being in a constant state of dehydration can increase the risk of disease in the future.
How Much Is Enough?
It is recommended to consume half of your body weight in ounces of water. If you weigh 150lbs then you would need 75 ounces of water (a little over 9 cups) or if you weigh 200lbs you would need 100 ounces of water (12.5 cups). During the summer months, increased physical activity or illness, your water requirements should also increase. Pay attention to your urine output, dark urine usually indicates dehydration.
Caffeine and alcohol are diuretics and urinary irritants which promote fluid loss. For every cup of coffee or alcoholic beverage, one needs to consume an extra two cups of water to compensate for the loss.
Messages of Water
Label your water with positive words!!
Mr. Emoto and colleagues decided to see how thoughts and words affected the formation of untreated, distilled, water crystals, using words typed onto paper and taped on glass bottles overnight. Such words include “I love you” or “I hate you, you make me sick”. The waters were then frozen and photographed. The positive words demonstrated the most beautiful crystals; whereas, the negative words demonstrated the most distorted crystals.
If our bodies are made up of 70% water, imagine what the words we say and use can do to our bodies.
