Monday, December 10th 2007, is International Human Rights Day, a time to celebrate both our victories and our continuing struggle for equality. The United Nations signed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1947. Unfortunately for six children at a York Catholic School they have become part of the continuing struggle.
The students will be joined by Alex Steen, NHL Player for Toronto, Maurice Brenner, Human Rights Advocate and Expert who is working with the children and Iain T. Donnell, Legal Counsel to the applicants.
A Press Conference will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday December 10, where these children will, in their words, share their courage and why they want to make a difference for themselves and others with deadly allergies.
The event will take place at the Vellore Village Community Centre, Activity Room #1, located at 1 Villa Royale Avenue (North of Rutherford Road, East Side of Weston Road) Vaughan, Ontario.
The children are Alexander (Age 11), Julia (Age 11), Lucas (Age 9), Miranda (Age 8), Matteo (Age 9), and Johnny (Age 6).
